Spring/The Woodlands, TX
Geographically, it’s sometimes hard to tell where Spring ends and The Woodlands begins. Spring is a sizeable area of Northern Harris County and a smaller area of Southern Montgomery County, while The Woodlands is an unincorporated 28,000-acre award-winning master-planned community that began in 1974 as a suburban development and a bedroom community, also located in both Harris and Montgomery counties. Several ISD’s serve these communities.
The original town of Spring, now known as Old Spring, is a quaint area that offers numerous boutiques, five popular festivals, and annually is one of the top attractions in Texas. In Spring, you’ll find a water park, many golf courses , and convenient access to all of the major employment hubs in greater Houston and The Woodlands.
The Woodlands, on the other hand, is built around acres of green space and majestic pines, so there’s no shortage of parks, hiking and biking trails, and water activities on the 200-acre lake. The Woodlands neighborhoods, or villages as they are referred to, offer access to upscale shopping centers, fine dining, recreational facilities, healthcare and places of worship.
Large corporations, including Chevron Phillips, ExxonMobil, and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, house their campuses within this community. The Woodlands Waterway adds a distinctive feature to the downtown area, offering both functional and entertainment value to this bustling location and connects to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Woodlands Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, Waterway Square and The Woodlands Mall.
